What AGEA does
AGEA acts as the advocate for the export sector; is a first point of contact for customers, government and industry; and provides exporter input into commodity groups and other industry organisations.
AGEA:
- Works for benefit of grain exporters
- Represents members that ship Australian grains and oilseeds
- Operates as the “voice of the Australian grains and oilseeds export industry"
- Represents the interests of its members to Government and industry to improve the profitability and sustainability of the grain export industry
- Acts as a first point of contact for export customers and potential customers of Australian grains
- Supports an efficient export value chain
AGEA delivers this through activities such as:
- Advocacy for members with government, industry and international markets
- Acting as an industry point of contact for international customer access, promotion and linkages
- Promoting improvements in efficiencies across the value chain
- Being a conduit for information flows across the value chain
- Working with other industry organisations to provide export focussed input across issues including quality standards, biosecurity and quarantine, trade facilitation, quality assurance, information, transport/infrastructure planning and technology stewardship.
